All parts are donated and free! The only requirement is that you must have your bike present in the shop to install the parts. So don’t forget to bring it to all programs.
Tuesday & Thursday 5:30pm - 7:30pm
RIBs Open Shop is a drop-in program that provides an opportunity to learn bicycle mechanics and/or maintain already owned bicycles. Visitors have free access to tools and parts as well as volunteers with knowledgeable experience. This program is open to public.
Geared for Change
RIBs offers rotating special programming of bicycle empowerment programs for under-served populations in the city of Ithaca. Participants gain independence of owning their own means of transportation and valuable knowledge of bicycle mechanics.
RIBs Shop Orientation
In this brief orientation, new participants are walked through the shop and familiarized with shop policies and protocol. Feel free to visit during any of our operating hours and sign-up on arrival.
Hands-on Bicycle Maintenance & Repair Clinics
Our bicycle maintenance and repair clinic is a series of classes and/or individual clinics taught by RIBs staff and volunteers. Clinics provide a hands-on educational opportunity, covering all the fundamentals of bicycle maintenance and repair. No previous knowledge is required or expected. Participants provide RIBs with more experienced volunteer help during Open Shop. Clinics are free of charge and the knowledge gained from each clinic helps participants become more self-sufficient cyclists. Pre-registration is required! You must rsvp to attend! Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. View our List of Clinics.
